Potable Water Lines Corroded and Leaking Inside Walls
Chlorine and oxygen inside potable water reacts with copper pipes corroding them from within. The resulting “pinhole” leaks inside walls and floors of this luxury high rise building required pipe excavation and replacement, resulting in tenant disruption that would cost millions of dollars and create a great mess.
The Solution – Epoxy Pipe Lining By Forced Air
For small diameter pipes the epoxy lining is different in that the pipes are cleaned using high pressure air to blow sand through the pipes to remove oxidation deposits. Next the epoxy is also blown through the pipe to create a uniform coating of 100 year life epoxy. Finally pressure tests are done to ensure all leaks were sealed.
